The VIPP Report: Kentucky based DB Bourbon Candy goes “Hollywood”

DBBourbonCandy

DB Bourbon Candy returns to the Academy Awards for the third year

DB Bourbon Candy must have found a four leaf clover because everything owner Robyn Stuart touches literally turns to gold.  While celebrating their new success of being in area Kroger Stores across Kentucky.  Stuart gets a call from the Oscar Gifting Lounge inviting back DB Bourbon Candy for a third year.  Stuart and her Bourbon Country team accepted the invitation and now they will prepare to head to back to Hollywood.

Academy Award nominees, guests and the who’s who of L.A. will get a chance to sample some of DB Bourbon Candy, Four Roses and then walk away with a special gift bag.

Stuart says “Everyone has been so supportive of my vision.  When I notified Four Roses they immediately jumped onboard and said they would help out anyway that they could.  The last five years of my life has been dedicated into making my candy a household name.  I feel like I ‘m on my way with the many opportunities I have been blessed with from Liquor Barn to Kroger and now the Oscars for a third time.  Everywhere I go I’m proud to say I’m from Kentucky where champions are made.  I’m definitely winning! I know my mother and grandmother would be so proud that what they did as a family tradition is now a model for DB Bourbon’s success.”

In the last week, DB Bourbon Candy delivered their first shipment of chocolates to the Kroger Company.  You can find them in participating stores.  You can also purchase them at your local Liquor Barn in various stores in Kentucky.  You can always visit their site at http://www.dbbourboncandy.com.

DB Bourbon Candy has participated in some of the biggest events across the U.S. from the Academy Awards, Emmys, Breeder’s Cup Taste of the World at Winstar, Chris Tucker Celebrity Golf Tournament, Barbara Streisand Fundraiser, Chris Everett Charity event, Soul Train Awards, Kentucky NFL Hall of Fame and many Kentucky Derby events like Barnstable-Brown Gala, Grand Gala and 100 Black Men of Louisville.

In 2002, Stuart started her business after the passing of her mother.   During the holidays, her mother would create the delicious treat as a family tradition. Robyn wanted to honor her mother in some way so she decided to start the business and make the original candy recipe apart of her business. With the support of Four Roses and Bourbon Country as well as the many events and activities she participates in everyone loves to see the wonderful creation that she produces.  From initially starting with candy the business has grown into developing other products such as chocolate covered fruit, cheesecakes to chocolate covered popcorn.

Two-time NFL champion Deion Branch helps two families in Kentucky after a major fire

DSCN0344Super Bowl 39 MVP & former University of Louisville wide receiver Deion Branch heard about two families in Elizabethtown, Kentucky losing everything in a house fire.  After seeing the media reports, Branch and his family went to Elizabethtown on Saturday, December 14th to meet the two families. He wanted to help them get some necessities to get them through the holidays.

With the assistance of the Elizabethtown Red Cross, Branch met the families consisting of eleven (11) members and took them on a shopping spree at the area Target Store.  The families got an opportunity to pick up clothing, home essentials and toys for the children.

Branch says “To see their faces when we told them to get what they needed were priceless.  To have my wife and children with me was a special moment.  We try to instill in our children to give back.  I was so proud to see my son and daughters helping the children pick out their gifts.  We’re happy that we can be a blessing to them but they were also a blessing to us.  They made us realize as long as we have each other that’s all that really matters.  Material things can be replaced.”

The Deion Branch Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to offer support to children’s mental, physical, emotional well-being and for those inflected with meningitis.  The DBCF’s mission is to help with research and to find a cure to ease the struggles for children like Deiondre, Deion’s son. The foundation goal is to assist by providing programs and initiatives aimed at improving their quality of life. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
