Miss Black Kentucky USA announce winners in Teen, Miss, and Ms. divisions tonight in Louisville

OFFICIAL RELEASE

(Louisville, KY) Tonight, at the Louisville Memorial Auditorium in Louisville, KY. For the first time in more than ten years, a woman was crowned Miss Black Kentucky USA.  Miss Ariel Thompson was crowned in front of some 250 friends, families and newfound fans. 

Each division crowned a representative who will represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the next calendar year and will head to the national pageant. 

 Here’s this year’s winners:

 Teen division winner is Miss Nia Franklin of Louisville, KY

 Miss division winner Miss Ariel Thompson of Louisville, KY

 Ms. division winner is Ms. Dominique Joy Thompson of Louisville, KY (Hometown Chicago, Il)

 Just minutes after her win, Thompson says “It is amazing! To finally win something. I always get second and/or third but to win it feels surreal.” 

Dr. Ashley Anderson says “It was truly a night to remember. To hear the audience cheering for the young ladies brought tears to my eyes. These ladies have worked hard and will represent this pageant in a grand way, and I’m so honored to have played a part in their journey.” 

This evening, thousands of dollars of scholarship money was awarded along with Miss Congeniality, Volunteer Award and People’s Choice Awards.

The birth of the Miss Black Kentucky USA franchise is one that will have an impact on young women of Kentucky for generations to come. Beyond the scholarships that will be awarded in Miss, Ms., and Teen divisions, the life skills programming will be sure to elevate the minds and lives of all participants. It will

groom leaders, shed light on issues of concern in the community, and meaningfully fund the educational pursuits of Black women in Kentucky. It is my intent that this program becomes the largest scholarship funding source for young women of color across Kentucky.

Entry deadline is extended to give potential participants a chance to sign up

United Crowns Productions announces the return of Miss Black Kentucky USA.  Giving young women of color an opportunity to experience a pageant format, showcase their talent and scholarship to assist them with their educational endeavors.  The pageant will be held October 7th-9th in Louisville, Kentucky in Memorial Auditorium.

Due to the overwhelming response we needed to extend the entry deadline to August 20th to help give perspective participants an opportunity to sign up.  Plus, we have added a new division.  It will cater to women between the ages of 28 to 35 years of age. 

Black women from all over the state of Kentucky will be in Louisville not only to compete for the crown but to learn about their heritage, meet and hear influential community leaders, network amongst fellow contestants and to win prize money that will help them further their education. United Crown Productions mission is to encourage all women to embrace their beauty and empower them with confidence and leadership skills.

Two young ladies crowned in Louisville will represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the next year

(Louisville, KY) On Saturday, June 8th at the Brown Theatre in Louisville Miss Kentucky and Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen announced who would represent Kentucky in the Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competitions.

Miss Kentucky 2019

Lexington native Alex Francke was crowned Miss Kentucky Saturday night in Louisville.  She will represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the Miss America competition. The official dates will be announced by the Miss America officials in the coming days.

Landry Feldmeier was crowned Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen. She will present Kentucky at the 2019 MAOTeen Competition in Orlando, Florida on July 23, 24, 25 & 27th at the Linda Chapin Theatre in the Orange County Convention Center.

The Miss Kentucky Scholarship Organization does not approve of the alleged behavior which led to the legal allegations and recent arrest of Ramsey Carpenter Bearse.

MISS KENTUCKY’S OUTSTANDING TEEN PAGEANT CROWNS MISS WAYNE COUNTY AREA TO REPRESENT KENTUCKY IN THE MISS AMERICA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN PAGEANT

(Louisville, KY) Tonight, it’s the changing of the arms. A new queen is announced for the Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Pageant, (MKOTP) held at the Kentucky Center in downtown Louisville.

Twenty-two contestants representing the bluegrass being judged on talent, a private interview, lifestyle and fitness in sportswear, evening wear and on-stage question.

Tonight, Miss Wayne County Area Joanna Clark was crowned the winner.  She will now go to the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida to represent Kentucky at the end of July.

Here’s the official standing: 1st Runner-up Savannah Cooper; 2nd Runner-up Reagan Earlywine; 3rd Runner-up Haven Wolfe and 4th Runner-up Claire Yates.

Dr. Ashley D. Anderson, Executive Director for the pageant and President of the Miss Kentucky board says “The judges had a very difficult time this year.  There was so many talented ladies and all very deserving.  Joanna Clark will represent Kentucky very well in the upcoming pageant.  I hope everyone will rally around her as she prepares to compete in Orlando.  The pageant is so much more than people know.  This pageant empower young ladies to be the best they can be.  We help develop leadership skills and confidence.”

The VIPP Report: The Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held in Louisville

(Louisville, KY) The Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Pageant, (MKOTP) will take place on Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th at the Kentucky Center in downtown Louisville located at 501 W. Main Street.  The official preliminary of the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Organization will bring 22 contestants from across the Commonwealth.  Contestants are scheduled to arrive in Louisville on Thursday.  On Friday, they will participate in the interview portion of the pageant followed by tours of Churchill and the Kentucky Derby Museum.  Then that night, they will enjoy a Louisville Bats Game.

On Saturday, May 26th is the beginning of the stage competition.  At 12:00 pm, is the preliminary competition which will be conducted in front of an audience.  Followed by a second round of preliminaries at 8:00 pm. On Sunday, May 27th at 2:00 pm, the finalist will be announced and one young lady will be announced as this year’s Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen.

Each contestant will be judged on talent, a private interview, lifestyle and fitness in sportswear, evening wear and on-stage question.

Last year’s winner and current title holder Frankfort, KY native Abigail “Abby” Quammen will be attending the University of Alabama on a full tuition scholarship just for competing at the national pageant.  The program is empowering young women, through pageantry to develop leadership skills, confidence and achieve their biggest goals in life. The VIPP Report: Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen is crowned in Louisville

(LOUISVILLE, KY) The Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Pageant (MKYOT) was held in Louisville May 26-28 at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.  On Saturday, May 28th, a panel of judges selected the young lady who will represent Kentucky in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant.

Miss Capital City’s Outstanding Teen, Abigail Quammen was crowned and now she will prepare to represent the Bluegrass. The 17 year- old senior attends Lexington Catholic High School.  She dazzled the judges and the audience with her rendition of “Astonishing”.

Dr. Ashley Anderson, Executive Director, MKYOT Program and her team of pageant professionals will work with Abigail to help prepare her for the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant held July 22nd-29th in Orlando, FL.

The Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program celebrated their 20th anniversary of preparing Kentucky women to become strong leaders in their perspective communities. The program continues to exemplify the high standards of scholarship, style, service and success.

To celebrate the accomplishments of the program, 2017 Miss America Savvy Shields was the keynote speaker for the “Meet the Miss American” luncheon where Miss America 2000 and Kentucky native, Heather French Henry served as the emcee.

(LOUISVILLE, KY) The Miss Kentucky Scholarship Organization will host a luncheon in conjunction with the Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Pageant (MKYOT) held in Louisville May 26-28 at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.  This year’s special guest is the reigning Miss America Savvy Janine Shields.  The 21-year old Arkansas native was crowned Miss America 2017 on September 11, 2016 in Atlantic City.  Savvy is the National Goodwill Ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. She’s currently a senior at the University of Arkansas where she’s majoring in Art and has a minor in Business.

The “Meet Miss America Luncheon” will be held on Friday, May 26th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 311 S. 4th Street at 11:30 a.m.  The public is invited to attend the luncheon, meet Miss America 2017 and participate in the autograph and photo opportunities.  Individual tickets are $35 and couple tickets are $60 for the pair.

This year’s Mistress of Ceremony will be Miss America 2000 and Kentucky native Heather French Henry.  Guests will also be serenaded with performances by the reigning Miss Kentucky, Laura Jones and the reigning Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen, Chapel Tinius.

LOUISVILLE, KY, DECEMBER 21, 2016- Fund for the Arts is proud to announce its partnership with the Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program.  Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen (MKYOT), Chapel Tinius, will serve as an arts ambassador for Fund for the Arts during her term as MKYOT.  This partnership will emphasize the essential need for greater arts education throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program and Fund for the Arts will collaborate in an effort to create more opportunity for the students of Kentucky through the arts.  Both organizations are fully committed to providing the resources necessary to develop the next generation of outstanding leaders.

“I believe that the arts are an important source of the 21st century skills needed to succeed in today’s society,” said Chapel Tinius.  “These 21st century skills include critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and confidence. I have had the privilege to develop these skills through my involvement in theatre and music.  What’s more, I performed a fiddle and vocal medley for the talent portion of my MKYOT competition in June.”

Fund for the Arts supports the development of 21st century skills through funding of arts initiatives for young people in our community.  They have created over 400,000 transformative arts experiences annually for students in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.  These 21st century skills allow students to be more successful in their chosen profession and create more innovation throughout our community.  Fund for the Arts also supports the annual Scholastic Arts Awards, as well as offering scholarship and award opportunities, including the William Tolbert Whittenberg Scholarship.

The VIPP Report: Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant Finds A New Home

MissKentuckyTeenPageantLouisville is the new site for a prominent pageant that showcases the talents of area teens 

(Louisville KY) On Saturday, June 25th at 8:00 pm one young lady will walk across the stage to receive her crown in the 2016 Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant.  Teens from all over the Bluegrass will travel to Louisville to compete for cash scholarships and an assortment of other prizes.

Twenty-three young ladies between the ages of 13 to 17 will be at the Kentucky Center for the Arts located in downtown Louisville from June 24th-25th.  Each contestant will go through two preliminary phases of competition.  Then on Saturday night, the Top 11 scorers will participate in the final competition where one will be crowned Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen.

Each contestant will be judged on talent, a private interview, lifestyle and fitness in sportswear, evening wear and on-stage question.  The winner on June 25th will represent Kentucky at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant in Orlando, Florida from August 2-6th.

Ashley Miller, Executive Director for the teen pageant and Vice President of the Miss Kentucky board says “This system is a great opportunity for the teens of Kentucky to showcase their talents and win scholarships that can assist them in paying for college. The Miss America organization is about empowering young women with the skills they need to be successful leaders both in their careers and in their communities.  It is largely because of the skills I learned during my time competing in this system that I have been so successful in my career and community.”
