BOURBON, BLUES & BOOTS: THE MID-SOUTHERN HOEDOWN RETURNS WITH GRAMMY-NOMINATED NAPPY ROOTS HEADLINING

Louisville, KY- Prestigious Entertainment proudly announces the return of Bourbon, Blues & Boots: The Mid-Southern Hoedown, Kentucky’s premier Southern Soul Rodeo experience celebrating live music, horses, bourbon, wine, food, family, community, and Black cowboy culture.

The 2026 event will take place Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, KY. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are available now at Kyhoedown.com.

Following an impressive turnout of more than 3,000 attendees in 2025, Bourbon, Blues & Boots expands its entertainment lineup for its second year — headlined by Kentucky’s own Grammy-nominated Nappy Roots, along with additional local artists and special guests.  

Their performance brings national recognition and hometown pride to this year’s celebration. The Southern rap artists is known for hits like “Po’ Folks”, “Awnaw”, “Roun’ the Globe” and “Good Day”.

Expanded Family & Cultural Activities Include:

• Trail rides, barrel racing, and rodeo-style activities

• Line dancing, cultural storytelling, a car show, and cigar lounge

• Bourbon and wine tastings

• Food trucks and local vendors

Roots 101 African American Museum returns as the event’s charitable partner, supporting cultural preservation and community engagement. The museum’s mission is to promote understanding and inspire appreciation of African American achievements, contributions, and experiences through exhibits, programs, and activities that illuminate the depth and richness of our history, culture, and art.

Roots 101 was founded by Lamont Collins in 2020, the African American Museum is a place where visitors can see themselves in history, explore the African-American story in its entirety, and gain a greater understanding of the achievements, cultural contributions, and experiences of our community.
