She’s went on maturity leave and many thought she may not return.  There’s been hints all day from the multi-Grammy Award winning artist that something was brewing.  A video saying she would return but when?

Then at 10:20 pm tonight, an email pops into my inbox announcing the Janet Jackson 2017 State of the World Tour.  The 56-city tour will begin on Thursday, September 7th in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Louisville, KY is on that tour schedule.  Jackson will be at the KFC Yum! Center on Friday, December 1st.  Tickets go on sale Friday, May 5th, (Oaks Day).

Don’t forget if you previously purchased tickets for the Unbreakable Tour they will be honored for the news dates.  Janet cancelled the concert because she was expecting her first child and was told by doctors to rest.  She had that baby January 3rd of this year.

Special report from Sherlene Shanklin, WHAS11 Television, ABC Louisville

I have new information in regards to Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable Tour.  According to Jackson’s team and Live Nation the tour will resume in 2017.  There’s no specific date at this time but 2017 is the target date.  That also includes the KFC Yum Center show originally scheduled for June 8th.

New dates will be announced at a later time and I’m being told that tickets will be honored for the re-scheduled dates.  If you do not wish to attend the 2017 date refunds are available at the point of purchase.

The VIPP Report: Music icon Janet Jackson adds a third leg to her tour

janet-jackson-to-release-new-album-2015-2

Special from The411 with Sherlene Shanklin, WHAS11 Television

I said it would happen and now “Ms. Jackson” will make a stop in Louisville for her Unbreakable Tour. We have to wait a little while but she will have all of the kinks of the tour out when she comes to the KFC Yum Center. Many of her fans will not mind because her show will be well worth the wait. Janet Jackson will be in Louisville on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

The GRAMMY® Award-winner and multi-platinum selling artist announced a third North American leg to her UNBREAKABLE WORLD TOUR and of course Louisville was on that list. I understand Janet was listening to her fans and their overwhelming response to both her new music and her tour caused her to add a second city in Kentucky.

Tickets for the Louisville show go on sale to the public beginning at 10am on Saturday, September 19 at www.livenation.com, www.ticketmaster.com, the KFC Yum! Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.

The VIPP Report: Janet Jackson’s “Unbreakable” World Tour

JanetJackson

She just received the Ultimate Icon Award during the BET Awards causing a social media frenzy.  All the superstar did was walk on the stage and before she could say a word she was trending.  Music icon, multiple Grammy Award winner and multi-platinum selling artist Janet Jackson will start her North American “Unbreakable World Tour”.

The first leg of the tour will cover 36 dates throughout the U.S. and Canada starting August 31st.

The Gary, Indiana native is one of the most influential entertainers of the modern era.  In the first round of dates, Ohio is the closest veue to see the superstar.  So, on Saturday, September 12th, Jackson will be at the PNC Pavillion in Cincinnati at 8pm.

If you can’t get a ticket for that show, you may have to wait until January of 2016.  Due to the overwhelming response, Jackson added 27 additional dates and our neighbors in Lexington made that list.  So, save the date of Saturday, January 30, 2016 for Rupp Arena.

Tickets are already on sale and you can purchase them at Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets and the venue’s box offices.
