Learn the industry standard from the man who secretly shapes artists for major labels
(Louisville, KY) Have you ever wondered how some aspiring artist(s) get the record deal while others do not? It’s all about the A, B, C’s of Music and being able to understand what the label expects from you. On Sunday, October 13th in Louisville, KY by one of the best kept secrets in the music industry Dorian “King D” Washington will host a “Music 101” workshop at the Hardrock Café at Fourth Street Live from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The free music workshop will discuss publishing, radio, marketing, music plus much more. This event is for anyone wanting to learn about the industry and how it works.
The question many artists ask, “Do I have to move?” Washington says, “You can make it from anywhere no excuse.” Where did he get that mentality? You have to hear his story and road to success on the Sunday, October 13th.
“Music 101” Louisville was made possible due to the partnership of The Orchard, Sony Music, New Wave Distribution, South Coast Music Group, Hitmaker and D. Wash Management.

With the Kentucky Derby just 86 days away, organizers are working hard behind the scenes planning some of the biggest events, galas and parties around the greatest two minutes in sports. I announced that Grammy Award winning hip-hop/rap artist Lil Wayne will be in concert along with Grammy-nominated newcomer Cardi B and R&B sensation K. Michelle will be in concert on Thursday, May 3rd at Broadbent Arena for Derby Soundstage 2018.
I’ve just learned that the host of the event will be a member of the World’s Most Dangerous Morning Show, The Breakfast Club. The Derby City welcomes DJ Envy. He will host and dj the concert. Envy is the co-host of the nationally syndicated four and half hour morning show along with Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God. The show also showcases some his top music mixes. When he’s not on the show, he travels to host and dj some of the hottest parties and events. So, it’s make sense to have him be a part of the biggest week-long celebration in Louisville leading up to Derby 144 on the first Saturday in May.
All three artists performing have new material from Lil Wayne with Dedication 6, Cardi B with the remix of Finesse featuring Bruno Mars and K. Michelle with her album “The People I Used to Know”.
So, its Lil Wayne. Cardi B and K. Michelle in concert hosted by DJ Envy on Thursday, May 3rd in Broadbent Area. Tickets are on sale and they start at $70. The show will begin at 7:00 pm.

Louisville hip-hop fans know Wayne well because Louisville native, the late Stephen “Static Major” Garrett wrote the song “Lollipop” for Wayne’s Tha Carter III album. In 2008, Lil Wayne won four Grammy Awards, including best rap album and best rap song, which he won for “Lollipop”.
