Louisville’s own R &B/Trapsoul artist Bryson Tiller and baseball legend Ken Griffey, Jr. have teamed up to release the S24 X Trapsoul Apparel and Accessories Collection.  The collection was released at midnight on March 24th.   The collaboration is a combination of classic swingman style gear with a R&B/Trapsoul edge. It’s bringing culture, sport and style.  It’s designed to reach the next generation of fans with a fusion of Tiller and Griffey’s style.

The collection will include jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, pants, ball caps and backpacks.  This is a limited edition S24 X TRAPSOUL Capsule Collection.  To commemorate Griffey’s all-star legacy with the Seattle Mariners you will see the colors teal, ocean blue, black and white in the collection.  The unisex collection ranges in sizes XS (extra small) to 3XL (triple extra-large) and it will cost you from $35 to $195.

The photos given to me for this story we actually taken in Louisville for the launch of the collection photographed by Antonio Pantoja.  They were taken here in homage to Tiller and his hometown.

Excitement is building around the launch.  Dorian Washington, SVP of Artist Relations for S24 says “I’ve been involved in a lot of great projects throughout my 30 year career in the music industry, but this is without a doubt the most exciting,”.

The original swingman brand was founded in 1995 reaching accolades as one of the highest grossing sports brands worldwide.  Now, with the collaboration with Tiller its expected to reach that status once again by knocking out the previous records out of the park.

Seniors need to submit a letter and/or video 2 minutes or less explaining how they give back through community service.  A committee will read the entries and determine the winners.  Submit entries to:  The deadline is August 13, 2018 at 11:59 pm.

The VIPP Report: Birdgang Brand welcomes L.A. Ram & former U of L Cardinal Jamon Brown to the team

(Louisville, KY) We are just hours away from the kickoff of the Louisville Cardinal football season and everyone is getting excited about the season and future that lies ahead for this ACC team. Birdgang Brand Clothing is happy to announce Jamon Brown as the newest partner of the elite brand of University of Louisville apparel and accessories.

With the ink now dry on the deal, Jamon officially becomes a partner in Birdgang, and also takes on the role of being the first professional athlete to be endorsed by the locally-owned clothing company, and certainly will not be the last.

Jamon is in his second year in the NFL and is the starting right guard for the Los Angeles Rams, where he regularly clears the line of scrimmage for 2015 Rookie of the Year, running back Todd Gurley.

Jamon was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. and is a client of Rich Sports Management, which worked with Birdgang Brand Clothing Partner and Chief Financial Officer, Danny Mosby to get the ground breaking deal done. He is also a Fern Creek High School and University of Louisville graduate.

Mosby credits the ability to get such an enormous deal done, to the overall humbleness that Jamon displays, as well as the strong image that he exudes in his daily life. “Jamon is an excellent young man, a hard worker, and one that we lost sleep over to secure this deal, because we couldn’t think of a better person of higher integrity that also matches the missions of our Brand. He was just the perfect fit.”

Jamon says “It’s a huge honor and opportunity to become a part of the Birdgang family! BIRDGANG has been a part of the first group of people to believe in me, and to have this opportunity means a lot! As we take the next step in our journey, I’m excited to build and grow together! #BirdgangFamily”

Birdgang will also look to create a specific division geared toward Jamon’s likeness, and will also aim to benefit the “Big and Tall” crowd, which unfortunately has frustrating challenges when it pertains to purchasing University of Louisville themed merchandise.

If you would like to setup an interview, (in-studio/phone) please contact VIPP Communications for availability.

October 29, 2014

2013, “The Year of the Cardinal” took the University of Louisville athletics to new heights. Fans witnessed a football team go 2-0 in bowl victories, a baseball team that advanced to the college World Series, a women’s basketball team reach the NCAA championship game, a men’s basketball team that won a NCAA Championship (2012-2013 season) and the emergence of a new clothing line that captured the swagger of a proud and enthusiastic fan base fittingly called “BIRDGANG”.

Birdgang Brand Clothing is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky and is a high fashion sports apparel company centered around the University of Louisville Athletics. Birdgang Brand Clothing is supported and approved by the University of Louisville, and is officially licensed by the Collegiate Licensing Company, (CLC).

The clothing line is founded by two members of the group Nappy Roots, Brian “Buffalo Stille” Scott and Ronald “Ron Clutch” Wilson. Stille is the founder and Wilson serves as the co-founder of the brand.

Consumers raved over the style and comfort of the university approved brand. Merchandise was flying off the shelves at retail outlets such as Hall of Fame Café, JD Becker, and Cardboard Heroes in Oxmoor and St. Matthews Malls respectively. From alumni to former players and students, to new found fans across the U.S. the demand for the Birdgang Brand Clothing was such that it caused the company to go back into production and design new merchandise for customers that have purchased every design available to them.

Fast forward one year later as BIRDGANG BRAND now announces the launch of its new website and the addition of their “fly custom fitted caps and SnapBacks” as well as an all new “lady birds” category for the ladies. “We wanted to extend more options to our female Cards fans than just men’s/unisex tees,” says Stille. “In addition, we just got tired of seeing these cheap knockoffs of our trademark, a statewide and federal registered trademark.”

“Our new Fall/Winter line is a fresh new look, which is sleek and stylish plus versatile for U of L fans to show their school spirit even in their workplace.”

With these guys it’s all about the fans. “We do it for the people!” adds Wilson. Being avid U of L fans themselves and even one partner, Danny ‘Moe Money’ Mosby having started on the ’96 Cardinal football squad, the BIRDGANG BRAND team is focused on bringing urban fashion to the sports apparel arena. Stille adds, “We just wanna rep our team and stay fly in the process!”

Former Greater Louisville Inc., (GLI) Executive Director Tendai Charisika says “Birdgang Clothing is on the brink of something special”. Tendai has been instrumental in connecting Birdgang with Louisville’s most sought after venture capitalists. “Birdgang has been able to establish valuable licensing agreements and strategic partnerships with the University of Louisville that has positioned them for incredible future success. The market for urban apparel is growing and Birdgang is capturing this market with the highest quality material, which is what their brand stands for.”
