Eckstein Norton University, founded in 1890 in Bullitt County, Kentucky, was one of the state’s earliest educational institutions dedicated to African American students. Founded by Rev. William J. Simmons and Rev. Charles H. Parrish, the school provided both academic and vocational training at a time when educational opportunities for Black Kentuckians were severely limited. #BlackHistory #KentuckyHistory #EducationMatters #EcksteinNortonUniversity #preservinghistory
