When I mention Raekwon and Ghostface Killah what comes to mind? I personally think the beginning of hip hop and rap. These two helped shape that genre of music and now you can see both artists in Louisville on Thursday, July 30th in the Mercury Ballroom. The joint tour serves as Raekwon’s 20 year anniversary of his first solo hip hop album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.
The Wu-Tang Clan member also known as The Chef, because he was always cooking up something good when it came to the lyric game. Ghostface Killah, also a member of the Wu-Tang Clan debuted his solo album in 1996 with Ironman. His name was taken from one the characters in the 1979 film Mystery of Chessboxing.
Both artists started their professional careers in 1992 and in 2015 they have a progressive fan base. You can see them at the Mercury Ballroom on Thursday, July 30th. Tickets are $29.50 in advance. Showtime is at 8:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets at mercuryballroom.com, or the Louisville Palace Box Office.
