DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING RESPONSE THESLICE RETURNS BIGGER AND BETTER WITH A NEW LOCATION IN WEST LOUISVILLE
With the Kentucky Derby right around the corner, the city is preparing to host racing fans with hospitality, food and some of the best drinks from the mint julep to a good bourbon on the rocks and now you can get all of these things plus much more with the return of TheSlice-Spice, Style & Soul on Saturday, April 25th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
We had to move the event from the parking lot of St. Augustine Catholic Church at 13th and Broadway to the Center for African American Heritage, 1701 West Muhammad Ali Blvd to accommodate vendors, sponsors and the number of guests that attend the annual event. This year’s theme is “A Salute to a More Compassionate Louisville”. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy music provided by The Unlimited Band.
There will be plenty of food from chefs all over the city and for the first time a wine tasting.
Tickets are $60.00 in advance and $70.00 day of event. You can also purchase a table for eight (8) for $600.00. You can purchase them at St. Augustine Church@(502) 584-4602; Better Days Records in The Lyles Mall, JAM BUSTERS at 4906 Popular Level Road in Newburg or at the Kentucky Derby Festival offices in Old Louisville or Online via The Slice Event Site at: http://www.thesliceoflouisville.org.

To keep with our theme as a compassionate city, Ms. Asia Ford will be one of our special guests. She captured the hearts of not only our city but the world when a photo was taken of her trying to complete the marathon and a police officer came to her aide and assisted her to the finish line. She’s actually competing the morning of the 25th at the KDF miniMarathon and then will attend our event that evening.

The Slice Charities of Louisville, Inc. is an independent, inner-city focused, public charity that raises funds and makes grant awards to support the ever increasingly crucial “safety net” that today exist only because of the compassionate efforts of the nonprofit social service organizations serving West Louisville and Portland which provide: emergency food, prescription drugs, housing and utility assistance, and after-school programs.
